OPEF Innovative, Hands-on Educational STEAM Programming in an After-school Setting
This past winter/spring, OPEF piloted a new after school program at Beye Elementary School. OPEF was able to offer our innovative, hands-on programming for 12 weeks to Beye School K-5 students. This included the offering of a Spheros Robotics class for 3rd -5th graders that was based on our popular Spheros BASE Camp. For Spheros, OPEF was able to offer eight full scholarships for students in need of assistance to attend. Other offerings included: Drill Team, Multi-Sport Madness and Table-Top Gaming/DnD.

Align with D97 Goals for Out of School Time Enrichment:
By implementing high quality engaging afterschool sessions, we support District 97’s initiatives of improving academic outcomes for students through enriching learning experiences outside of the classroom.
Provide STEM Learning Experiences for Scholarship Students:
OPEF is intentional in bringing tech learning experiences to students of underrepresented populations in the STEM industries through providing scholarships to our BOLT coding and robotics classes.
