Last summer during BASE Camp, Concordia University welcomed our 7th and 8th Graders at their state of the art nursing facility for Nursing Lab BASE Camp! Students were trained in CPR with instructors from the River Forest Fire Dept., learned how to apply a tourniquet and pack a wound. They also engaged in taking vital signs on life-like mannequins. There was also a staged car accident by the River Forest Police and Fire Departments. Students responded to the scene, practiced CPR and learned how to use specialized cutter tools to remove doors and metal from the car. This was an amazing hands-on learning experience for summer campers!
